With the increased EV driving leading to more EV charging, this is pushing the full charging of the batteries to later in the day, which means there is not enough solar energy being uploaded after the batteries are charged to offset the amount being pulled from the grid in the late evening and overnight. Therefore the number of panels needs to be expanded. The roof of the shop could be used for this purpose, as both an older dying tree was removed as well as a dying branch from another tree, allowing for more sustained direct sunlight on the shop's roof. In theory this could lead to an additional 4 to 6 panels, which will help offset the extra usage.
