Problem with Solar - SolarEdge Down
Problem
The SolarEdge SE6000H that controls the conversion of the 24 Mission Solar 310 watt panels from DC to AC is stuck in "sleeping" mode. It has apparently been stuck like this since 20Sep. This means no solar production from 24 of the 46 panels. This was not noticed as the focus has been on monitoring the grid state and the battery levels.
Tests performed so far:
- Power-cycled the monitoring device in case it was not reporting upstream properly.
- Power-cycled the inverter, and connected to it directly via zigbee to verify the errors.
- No direct errors in inverter log tied to 20Sep, although 28Sep the inverter received an Error 18x40 F-L1 Max1 error which suggests high voltage from the AC side (odd). Probably unrelated.
Steps to perform
-
Contact the vendor. Will contact Kosmos Solar as the installer Solar Energy Hero is out of business. -
After vendor visit to assess the damage/repairs, suggest bypassing the SE6000H and wiring the 24 panels to the Sol-Ark directly if it's cheaper. -
Start focus on a better monitoring plan: Develop Monitoring Plan ==> 100% complete (#6 - closed)
